CES Test Lab:Our commitment to customer satisfaction is evident at the CES Test lab, the most modern, fully-equipped HVAC testing facility in North America. Located in Oklahoma City on the Governair campus, the Lab serves as a showplace for witnessed testing of air flow, thermal and acoustical performance of units manufactured by Temtrol, Governair, Mammoth, Venmar, Ventrol, Webco and Eaton-Williams. Capabilities:Sound TestingOne third octave band sound testing to 50 Hz, in accordance with AMCA Standard 300. With dual AMCA 300 reverberant chambers, the CES Lab is industry's largest AMCA Certified facility. The 2325 cubic meter inlet reverb chamber is broad-band qualified to 50 Hz and the 750 cubic meter outlet reverb chamber has been pure tone qualified at frequencies of 100 Hz and above. These capabilities enable CES to test for sound absorption, transmission loss and sound power. Bottom discharge units can be set on stands to elbow duct connections into the reverberant room. Sound power tests are extremely accurate and efficient because the dual chambers permit the simultaneous measurement of either discharge / inlet or discharge / radiated sound power. ANSI S1.4 and S1.4A high-precision Brüel & Kjær microphones capture signals fed to an acoustically-isolated control room where an ANSI S1.11 Hewlett Packard dual-channel real-time FFT analyzer processes the data. Environmental conditions and other test variables are handled by our automated data acquisition and control system. Air Flow TestingMeasure air flow to 65,000 CFM or more, depending on individual unit static capabilities. The CES Lab is equipped with a calibrated, nozzle-type Air Flow Measurement Station. Physically located outside the stand-alone facility, the Station is isolated with sound traps to minimize any noise transmission to the reverberant chambers. The data acquisition system will monitor, control and calculate actual air flow correcting for density differences. Thermal PerformanceThermal performance of both air handlers and compressorized units can be evaluated up to 150 tons of cooling and 1,500 MBtu of heating. The Lab is equipped with a chiller and boiler to offset the thermal load of the equipment begin tested. |
